Joel cracked his knuckles as he sat back looking at the switchboard.Today was going to be a long ass day. It was his own fault. If he had gotten here on time, then he would have been able to leave at a decent hour. Not that it really mattered, he still had to take time out of his schedule to show Cole around. It seemed like for the past year all he heard in interviews was “ Do you think that your fans or One Direction fans are more passionate?”. Duh. His. He was one man.. against an entire band of men. Come on now.. they have to have five or.. seven of them, however many there are, to match his sexiness. Joking. Kind of. Joel looked down at his phone when it flashed a text that Cole was in the label owners office. He lowered his feet off the switchboard and yawned tiredly as he made his way out. Joel opted for the staircase instead of the elevator and was quickly tapping his knuckles against the office door. “Ello mate,” he said jokingly as he stuck his head in and waved. “ Joel Brooks. Nice to actually meet you, man. Welcome to the label” he said as he walked over and gave him a loose hug with a pat on the back. “ Let me show you around,” he said, tilting his head out the door before he made his way into the hallway. He held his breath momentarily. Interns were going to have a heart attack over this. It was hard enough getting them to talk to just him without crying.. now he had a member of One Direction at his side. “ Alright, most importantly… kitchen. We have a cafeteria here with a chef..” he said, yelling in. “ Yo Billy, Cole is here for a tour. One Direction is switching over,” he said before he came back into the hallway. “ Asher gets a lot of pancakes…. Don’t order pancakes… it makes chef mad,” he said with a small smirk. As they rounded the hallway he winced, throwing a hand over Cole’s eyes quickly. “ Don’t look Blake Parker in the eyes. That’s long enough for her to get a hook and chorus, and boom. Your hate song is in the top 10 billboard,” he said, ignoring Blake as she smacked him lightly on the arm and continued walking. “ And this .. is one of the dance rehearsal studios. Where you can see my girl at..” he said with a grin, “ Hang on a second,” Joel said, tapping his hand on the window that was technically considered a wall so they could see into the studio and waited for her to look over and smile before he took that as his cue to be able to go in.
Joel walked into the dance studio, wrapping his arms around Georgia as he leaned down and kissed her, squeezing his arms tightly around her shoulders. If he had paid more attention he probably would have noticed the shy intern standing at Cole’s side with a stack of paperwork. She pushed her glasses up, avoiding eye contact with him. “ Um.. sir, we have a few papers we need you to sign,” she said mousily as she shakily handed over the clipboard and pen. After a moment she looked up into the dance studio, making a slight face of judgment. “They aren’t even dating you know. Not really.” she said, pushing her glasses up against her face. “ She had a relationship with the owners son. It ended really badly… and I think his dad went into business mode. They’re sort of like the newer Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears…make them date, and no one will think his son is dipping his pen into the company ink. They even live together. But everyone here knows it’s fake. Not even their families know…” she said before taking in a deep breath and sighing. How handsome Joel was. She looked back up at Cole. Oh, he was just as handsome. “ Thank you,” she said, taking the clipboard away from him before she scurried away. Joel took Georgia’s hand and led her out. “ Georgia, this is cole,” he offered. Georgia smiled. “ We met at the VMA’s… “ she offered. Georgia lift her hand up and stepped closer to him to shake his hand. “ I’m Georgia Rose,” she offered with an even brighter smile. “ It’s nice to actually meet you,” she said before biting the edge of her lip and leaning back into Joel’s side.
