Blake pulled her luggage out of the back of the taxi before looking down the long drive, pushing her hair from her face. Maybe coming to Michigan wasn’t exactly the plan she had in mind. One of her shows got canceled so over the next couple of weeks her schedule would be ; a couple of days in Michigan hopefully, then head out to see Derek in Miami and then go to Australia with Dylan. Blake scrunched her nose up out of frustration as she tried to drag her suitcase all the way up. Why did she have to pack so much stuff for just a few days? But, she and Thayer had left things awkwardly. She left for tour, he thought things were fine, she went a little crazy and accused him of being psycho even though she was being psycho. It was a mess. So here she was, standing at the front door of this hideout that he’d come to. To be fair, it sort of was a beautiful place to come and hide out in, it sort of reminded her of her place in the Hamptons that she tried to vacation in from time to time. “ Okay,” Blake said, clearing her throat before she straightened her shoulders. She reached forward, knocking on the door before taking in a deep breath. This was either genius, or stupid. Blake reached down, untying her trench coat before she held it loosely in her hand at the side so that she was standing there in her flapper dress. Minus the fishnets and the head thing Outfit

Thayer had called it a day, having his thought process been interrupted by thoughts of his last conversation with Blake. He hadn't realized how much she was going to over think things, given the timing of everything and the fact that any kind of honeymoon stage they may have had after finally realizing they should be together had been robbed from them due to her tour. Thayer could have gone with her. And he understood if she thought he was 'hiding out'- which he wasn't- but he also didn't think she thought about what people would say if he had gone on tour with her. People would say it was rushed, that he was riding out his five minutes after fans had connected him with Timeflies. Not to mention going on tour with someone was something similar to living with them and Thayer didn't think things needed to be rushed. Being able to get to know each other the way they had had benefited the in a way they wouldn't have gotten of they had dated from the beginning. he wondered if he wouldn't have gotten to know her the way he knew her now. He was sure the stress of the situation was just getting to her, but it didn't make it any less worrisome for him. Thayer had come back to the main house, looking up prices for plane tickets, convincing himself he should wait and talk to her before he made and rushed decisions. Instead, he got up to make himself a sandwich- somewhat of a late dinner- deciding he would get up in the morning and head to the farmers market in Traverse, and maybe go to lunch with his mother. A mental break was what he needed, having found himself stuck creatively. Thayer was piling some thinly sliced turkey on cracked wheat bread when he heard a knock on the door. He hadn't heard a car come up the drive and it was a long driveway at that, but headed to the door anyways, looking through glass at the figure on the other side, not believing his own eyes. Thayer swung the door open, a smile creeping onto his face. Blake stood there, flapper dress and all, suitcase by her side. He was shocked in the best way, "Blake... wow, hi," he smiled, taking her in. She had obviously departed from her own tour to be here, wearing a Gatsby worthy dress at that, and judging by the silence in the yard, had walked all the way up the drive way. More than one emotions swept through him, surprise, happiness, excitement, some feeling he felt knowing she had come all the way here just to see him. Thayer stepped onto the porch, taking her face in his hands, shaking his head at her. She'd definitely surprised him, he thought, and leaned down to kiss her. He'd been waiting a long time to do that. He didn't know if the wait made it perfect or the timing, or what it took to get there, or just Blake being Blake that made it perfect. But he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity, and certainly wasn't going to wait another damned minute just to kiss her.

Blake looked up at the top of the porch, muttering to herself. “You have eight grammy’s. Sold out Madison Square Garden in under a minute.” she took in a deep breath, turning her neck side to side. “ Entertainer of the year. Sold out tours.. this… is just a boy.” she said, giving a nod of finality. She waited just a moment longer before bringing her hand up to her mouth and breathing on it quickly to check her breath, like she hadn’t eaten an entire pack of mentos on the way here from the airport. But as he opened the door, with a surprised look of her own, she felt the flutter in her heart that told her he wasn’t just a boy. “ Hi,” she said quietly, unable to stop the smile that had taken over the entirety of her face. Facetime and silly snapchats were not doing him justice in their time apart. When he stepped forward to kiss her, she was slightly surprised, lifting her eyebrows almost as high as they could go. But instead of shying away like she normally would have, Blake dropped her coat to the side and brought her hands up to wrap them around his neck. ” I wore a flapper dress. Cause of Gatsby…” she said after pulling away, incase he hadn’t pieced it together. Blake closed her eyes, shaking her head. He was smart, of course he had. “ Um.. “ she said before smiling again. Things had been so casual between them, so friendly. And while she wanted that normalcy back, she didn’t want the ‘friend’aspect of it. “ I know this is your place to come and try to work, and if I’m distracting you I can leave, and I’m really sorry I just… I had to see you,” she said, giving a pathetic smile before she shook her head at him, standing on her toes to give him another kiss. Ever since that masquerade she had been searching for him. And even when she had gotten to know him as a friend, he’d crept into her mind, making her come to the decision that she wanted to give up on a fairy tale and focus on something real. Except everything that was real about him was what made it a fairy tale. But to make a bolder move from their friendship, Blake leaned back with a lift of her eyebrow. They were in complete privacy, but even with her shyness consuming her, she whispered. “ I bought matching La Perla…” she said with a nod, doing her best to scrunch her nose. That was not the ‘come on’ line that she and Dylan had discussed.

Thayer shook his head when she mentioned distracting him, and to be honest, when she was on tour making him worry that things were going downhill, she had become a distraction. But what better way to cure that than to just have her here in person? "You're not a distraction, I'm glad you came," he smiled when she kissed him again. Thayer took her suitcase, holding the door open for her to go inside, smirking as he raised his eyebrows when she mentioned her matching la perla. "Is that so? You'll have to show me," he smiled and followed her inside, setting her suitcase down. He took her hand and gave her a spin around, smiling, "I think you look great," he added, moving back toward his sandwich, "Have you eaten anything? I make a mean turkey sandwich, you must be hungry" he joked. Thayer figured she must've flown into Cherry Capital, which was still a long drive up here. She had to be starving. Thayer grabbed more bread anyways and started making two just because. "It must've just been fate that I was down here getting some dinner, last week I spent every night up at the cabin," he added while he sliced a tomato.

Blake must’ve looked like a statue as she looked at Thayer with a blank expression. She had to show him? Well, that seemed like the appropriate turn of events. If you wore lingerie, you wore it to show it, right? Blake blinked as she tried to process everything in her mind. When she had talked it out with Dylan, that wasn’t how Thayer was supposed to respond. “ ….. Yep.” she said finally before clearing her throat. Blake felt the nerves start to slip away as he spun her around. She held onto his arm to steady herself before biting the edge of her lip. Actually, a turkey sandwich sounded amazing. Probably wasn’t amazing for her breath if she continued to go down the La Perla path. She thought for a moment, about how she was anal with any type of cooking and on how on turkey sandwiches she liked swiss cheese, with Dijon mustard and alfalfa sprouts, and that she liked tomatoes but only if they were cut at a certain width. Blake shook her own thoughts from her craziness before she smiled and nodded. “ That would be amazing,” she conceded, before listening to how he was usually at the cabin. “ Well, I am very happy you were here then. Would you show it to me later?” she questioned as she looked up at him. “ Like a … I’ll show you mine if you show me yours” she said before closing her eyes. “ That.. “ she continued, shaking her head. “ Do you have wine?”
