Delilah pulled her hair out from under her jacket and shook her hair out. She looked down at her phone, wondering where Declan was. When she turned , she bumped into the gentleman. She smiled apologetically as she looked up at the target. “ Oh my gosh, I am so sorry…” she said, biting the edge of her lip. “Oh it’s..it’s fine” he said, clearly giving her a glance over. “ Oh..” she said, looking down at the luggage that she knocked over. “ Allow me to help,” she said, leaning down as she bent her knee in her pencil skirt. When she leaned down, he did at the same time which gave her an opportunity to drop into his pocket the silver disc shaped device, smaller than that the size of a powder for makeup. Delilah smiled as she straightened herself, looking at the phone in the targets hand. If he was the person that the agency was looking for, then when he dialed a certain number on his telephone it would send a signal to the disc she had just put in his jacket pocket. “ Ugh, those smart phones..” she said, giving a quiet laugh. “ I hear they can be deadly,” she said, giving him another smile before she stepped away from him.
When Delilah stepped out of the airport, she placed on her sunglasses in time to hear the explosion go off. She smiled slowly as her phone began to vibrate. Digging into her jacket pocket she answered it quickly, “ Well you sure make an impression” Declan’s voice echoed from the other end of the phone. “ Well I have been told I am a problem. Where are you?” she questioned. But she rolled her eyes from behind her glasses as she saw him pulling up in a ridiculous car. Delilah ended the call, walking slowly along the pavement. Everyone else was in a hustle, running around, finding a cab, escaping the explosion. “ You’re the poster child of anonymity” she said dryly as she leaned down to the window that was rolling down on the passenger side. “ Well are you going to get in?” Declan questioned. Delilah took in a deep breath and sighed, opening the passenger door before she slid in. “ Seriously you couldn’t pick a car that stuck out more,” she said with an annoyed tone. “ A car that stuck out more? That was an explosion, Delilah. You were supposed to do a kill in the VIP.. or in a more private area. Not draw so much attention,” he said, causing Delilah to make a face. “ I just bought this skirt. I am not about to ruin another skirt. AND… We can put the focus on a potential terrorist attack which is going to clear up other opportunities to finish the list. I created a diversion for us to put more of our kills into without drawing more attention to ourselves. You should be thanking me, I just made your job easier. AND..” she said even louder, looking at him with raised eyebrows. “ I trained you..remember that? That was me. I’m the one that beat you senseless with a baseball bat, and I remember what it takes to make you cry. I will do it again.. you jerk. I wouldn’t have done it if there wasn’t a purpose for it. PLUS.. I’m a “reporter”. So now I can travel to investigate the unearthed terrorist attacks that people will want to know about, which gives me more of a reason to travel from work. This place is a fucking pit from hell with no news. Following Thayer here was the… stupidest thing I have ever done when it comes to work.” she said before sighing tiredly. “ So you’re creating news while assassinating people so that you can…continue…assassinating people? And come on, family is not that bad.” he said, giving her a knowing look. “ I bet our last target had a family,” she said quietly. “ Going soft?” Declan questioned. Her face hardened. “ No. If anyone found out who I was, it would be angered family. And if they decided to take it out on my family…” she said, shaking her head as she thought of Thayer. “ He’s too good for all of us,” she said, licking the inside of her lip and pushing the subject from her mind. “ Well let’s get you back to Cleveland,” he said before taking off towards their office in New York that would get them taken back to Cleveland.
“ You didn’t make me cry,” Declan said defensively in a quiet tone as they sat down at the pizzeria. “ Do you remember your training? I mean I know you were unconscious for a majority of it,” she said, looking up with a sarcastic smile. “ You’re a lot of anger and mean in one little body,” Declan said pointedly as he looked down at the menu. “ I think I’m gonna get a large with everything on it” he said. Delilah kept her fingers typing away on her phone, not looking up as she spoke. “ Oh good. When you’re running away from targets, or to them, they’ll be able to hear you trying to breathe through all the fat you’re gaining” she said. “ And I’ll have a tall beer” he said, looking up from the menu at her. Delilah smiled as she shook her head. “ You won’t always have that metabolism” she said, finally setting her phone down. “ Might as well enjoy it while I have it. Besides, wouldn’t it make sense to enjoy life while you can?” he questioned. “ Don’t get philosophical. “ she said, shaking her head. “ Okay,” he said, putting his hands up. “ You know I hate that word. Don’t say that.” she said, lifting her eyebrow before she crossed her right leg over her left. “ Oh, there’s your girlfriend.” she said quietly, giving him a smile. “ How’d you know? You haven’t met her yet.” Declan said while making a confused expression. “ Seriously?” Delilah questioned as she looked over at Declan. She narrowed her eyes, seeing reports of a bomb going off in the airport in New York. “ I’m gonna go get a beer.” she said, stepping away from the table before going to the bar area and asking for a bottle of Heineken. Delilah looked over her shoulder to see that Parker had approached the table and looked back at the television screen at the bar, giving footage of the explosion. She waited a few moments before she approached the table, holding her beer in her left hand and smiled towards Parker. “ Parker.. It’s so nice to meet you. Declan’s told me so much” she said as she started to take her blazer off and set it on the back of her chair.
